Gene Bervoets

After being in a band in the 70s Gene discovered theater as an actor. In the 80s he developed himself to a household name in Belgium in theater and later film. His over 130 credits on screen include series like Windkracht 10, Professor T. He starred in The Vanishing by George Sluizer and played in multiple films of Erik van Looy, Jos Stelling, Dominique Deruddere, Martin Koolhoven, Eddy Terstall, Alex van Warmerdam, Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah. He received a Dutch Academy Award (Gouden Kalf) nomination for the film De Laatste Dagen van Emma Blank and Flemish Academy Award (Ensor) nomination for the show Beau Séjour and nomination and win for the film Paradise Trips. Recent projects include De Kraak, Nr.10, F*** You Very, Tabula Rasa, Very Much and Arcadia. He also features next to Willem Dafoe in the Berlinale selected film Inside by Vasilis Katsoupis, which will premiere in cinemas across the world in March 2023. Upcoming projects include the show Knokke Off and the film De Dans van Natasja by Jos Stelling.
