Nils Verkooijen

Nils Verkooijen started acting on a very young age. He acted in over 50 film- and television productions, including the feature films Briefgeheim, Sonny Boy, Achtste Groepers Huilen Niet, Spijt!, Oorlogsgeheimen and Michiel de Ruyter. He played in series like Vrolijke Kerst, Land van Lubbers, Zwarte Tulp, Moordvrouw, Weemoedt and many more. In 2014 he made his own feature film Dansen op de Vulkaan, in which he also starred. He followed courses and years of acting lessons in The Netherlands, Germany and France. Recently he played in Shit Happens, Dirty Talks, De Belofte van Pisa and the Netflix original Ares. In 2020 he played a big role in the German feature film Berlin Alexanderplatz by Burhan Qurbani, which screened and premiered in main competition at the Berlinale. The film is also nominated for 11 German Academy Awards. Recently he also starred in Sam de Jong's Met Mes and just finished shooting for the upcoming series Bodem.
